City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Development Officer to lead their Youth Music Initiative across CEC primary schools and special schools (12 month fixed term)

Salary: £45,150 pa
Hours: 35 per week
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Youth Music Initiative (YMI) across City of Edinburgh Council primary schools and special schools. Fully funded by Creative Scotland, this post is to lead and manage Edinburgh’s YMI programme, helping develop Creative Learning and providing support to schools and establishments across the city.
The role will also support the development of the Creative Learning Network as a key deliverable of the National Creative Learning Plan and will contribute to local and national networks for youth music.
Working with 19,000 pupils across the city each year and hundreds of teachers, having developed innovative pick up and use resources for use by class teachers along with CLPL, this role has already taken YMI work to a new level and is ready to be taken up by a new post holder who is confident with digital approaches to teaching and learning.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
