The Scottish Chamber Orchestra is looking for a new Development Officer to manage and develop its individual giving strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated team player who is keen to expand their knowledge of fundraising techniques and professional practice within a highly passionate and well-established Development Team.

Development Officer, Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Permanent, Full Time (35 hours)

Salary scale £22,000-£24,000 per annum depending on experience

 

We are: looking for a creative, highly motivated and enthusiastic administrator to join a highly passionate and well-established Development Team responsible for fundraising at the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. The Development Officer will play a key role in managing and developing the Orchestra’s individual giving strategy. This involves organising special events, networking at receptions, ensuring effective stewardship of the Orchestra’s donors and running donor recruitment campaigns. The Development Officer will also assist in generating income from charitable trusts and foundations, involving research and the preparation of grant applications.

You are: someone who enjoys a broad-ranging workload and have the ability to deal with a steady flow of varied telephone and email enquiries as well as provide administrative support. You will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills and be able to manage competing demands.

You will have: excellent interpersonal and administrative skills and be fully computer literate (MS Office package). In addition, you will have previous fundraising experience, ideally in the arts, strong data processing skills and can work accurately and prioritise the workload effectively. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (or a similar database).
