Trio Anima came together at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. The trio won the Elias Fawcett Award for Outstanding Chamber Ensemble at the 2012 Royal Over-Seas League Competition, have performed as Live Music Now! artists. Concert engagements have taken the trio across the UK and further afield. On the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme, they enjoyed a series of concerts at music clubs, and continue to perform widely at venues including St David’s Hall, Conway Hall and The Music Room at Champs Hill. In tonight’s concert, Trio Anima performs a colourful programme of British and French music focussing on the first major works ever written for this combination at the turn of the 20th century, Arnold Bax’s Elegiac Trio and Debussy’s Sonata, and the legacy both composers left to this day, and featuring Trio Notturno by Rory Boyle, commissioned specially for the Trio.
