This summer, we are delighted to present the 3rd Scottish International Youth Piano Competition for younger pianists of great potential from around the world.

All students attending our piano summer school, for ages 12 – 17, will have the opportunity to compete for a place in the final on Saturday 28th July 2018. A distinguished jury, chaired by Associate Head of Keyboard Fali Pavri, will select the prize winners. The 1st prize in our senior category will be awarded the Sam Hutchings Memorial Award with the Moray Prize going to the winner of our Junior Category.

Senior (ages 15 – 17)

1st Round: 12 – 15 minute free choice recital with a minimum of two contrasting works.
2nd Round: 25 – 30 minute free choice recital, which may include one work from the previous round.

Senior prizes:
1st: £800 Sam Hutchings Memorial Award
2nd: £400
3rd: £150

Juniors (ages 12 – 14)

1st Round: 10 – 12 minute free choice recital with a minimum of two contrasting works.
2nd Round: 13 – 15 minute free choice recital, which may include one work from the previous round

Junior prizes:
1st: £450 Moray Prize
2nd: £200
3rd: £100

The deadline for booking to participate in the competition is Monday 18th June 2018 at 12pm.
