NYCOS, Scotland’s youth singing organisation, is seeking to appoint a Choir Director to lead and establish a new choir based in Hamilton.

NYCOS has established a network of fourteen Regional Choirs across Scotland from the Isle of Lewis to Dumfries. In recent years, these choirs have performed at major venues throughout Scotland including Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Dundee’s Caird Hall and Usher Hall, Edinburgh. They have sung at events including BBC Children in Need, World War One Remembered and Christmas Celebration broadcasts.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in choral directing combined with enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the aims of NYCOS in promoting and enhancing choral singing in Scotland. All choir members follow the NYCOS musicianship programme Go For Bronze, Silver and Gold, based on Kodály philosophy. It is preferable that prospective candidates are familiar with the Kodály approach to musicianship, though training will be provided.
