Working with children, young people and their families, we focus on early intervention and stimulating generational social change. By playing music together in ensembles and orchestras, we aim to grow confidence, respect, teamwork and aspiration in the children, young people and communities we work with.

We deliver our work through six Big Noise programmes: in Raploch & Fallin in Stirling, Govanhill in Glasgow, Torry in Aberdeen, Douglas in Dundee and Wester Hailes in Edinburgh.

Our current Head of Finance will be leaving us at the end of the year, after nearly 13 years. This is an exciting opportunity for a new Head of Finance to join Sistema Scotland’s Leadership Team with overall responsibility for ensuring that the resources of the organisation are appropriately managed by having robust financial processes and procedures in place. A key member of the Sistema Scotland Leadership Team, you will be responsible to the CEO and cross functional working with other members of the leadership team, the Board, Finance Committee & Audit Committee members. You will also have lead responsibility for supporting Sistema Scotland in its journey to becoming a net zero organisation.

A fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) accountant (or part qualified accountant with significant third sector experience), you will have demonstrable experience of financial management and control at a senior level.

You will also have experience and success on taking on leadership roles & responsibilities, along with experience & success in cross functional working at a senior level. You will also have a belief in the benefits that a social programme such as Big Noise / Sistema Scotland can have.

This post is offered on a permanent basis, working 4 days per week (28 hours); working pattern to be agreed with line manager although there will be flexibility within this. There may also be the opportunity for this role to be full time (35 hours a week) if the additional leadership responsibility for Company Secretary & Governance is also taken on. The selection process will be held on Wednesday 14 th August 2024 in Raploch, Stirling and will include a panel interview, a presentation and an MS Excel based competency task.
