Strathearn Arts: Community Engagement Lead

Strathearn Arts

Location: Perth and Kinross

Salary: £30,000 per annum pro rata

Deadline: 30/09/24

Are you passionate about arts and culture and want to make a difference?

We are looking for an engaging Community Engagement Lead to join our team.

Strathearn Arts is a multi-disciplinary community arts centre situated in Crieff, Perthshire. Founded in 2013 and based in a historic listed building which has served as a place of entertainment and education for two centuries at the heart of the town.

Our charitable mission is to serve the people of south and central Perthshire (the ancient province of 'Strathearn') with high-quality programmes of music, theatre, comedy, visual arts, literature, dance and cinema.

We have recently secured funding from The National Lottery Open Fund for our Building for the Future project. This funding will enable us to enhance the staging, seating and overall aesthetics of our auditorium, creating a more inviting and comfortable venue. These enhancements are motivated by our ambition to expand our audience and improve the experience of Strathearn Arts for performers, audiences and all members of the community who use our facilities.

To promote and celebrate the upgrade of our venue, we intend to extend our communities programme with events specifically targeted at new and prospective audiences. These activities will be linked to an enhanced film programme and a new community festival themed around rural life and the natural landscapes of Strathearn.

The Community Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing and delivering a programme of cultural engagement activities and events, in partnership with the local community. They will also work with colleagues on the development of a long-term engagement strategy that enables Strathearn Arts to retain and grow our audience beyond the end of the project.

Salary: £30,000 pro-rata + employers pension contribution
Contract: Fixed term of 18 months between October 2024 and March 2026.
Hours: The post will be for 16 hours per week; this includes flexible hours to meet the demands of the role, including evenings and weekends when required.
