Written for the Chinook Clarinet Quartet, who first performed it at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford on 31 October 2001.

Composer's note: 'May be played from the four corners of a hall with performers forming a 'knot' centre stage near the end, on the instruction 'walk'. In this case the music may be allowed to be less 'together' sometimes.'
